Initial studies and collage prints to get shape and form together for the image.

Beginning with lino block studies and colour compositions, Kara wanted an ocean theme background with waves and movement. The figure playing a dulcimer being Kara.

We decided a main background was needed for the cover, lots of pattern and texture and a different wave carving for the sea. This was a colour test in purple and black as the main colours. The lino block print was a reduction lino.

The final image, a reduction lino block print using blues, teal and black. The pinks were added digitally and the ‘Something Blue’ text was hand stamped onto the final print.
