Let me introduce you to Wilson, my very loveable yet very mischievous 10 year old black lab. Now living in the UK you will have met a Wilson, or a thousand. They are a popular breed for their glossy appearance in our rugged countryside and kind characters.

This picture book is a bit of a work in progress for me, I had the idea on mat leave with my first born. Basically Wilson went missing (for 19 hours!!!). It was awful, obviously, and we as owners really are helpless in that sort of situation. The community rallied and absolutely everybody was out looking for him. Needless to say it has a happy ending and Wilson returned - all by himself! I can only assume his wolf like senses kicked in and he found his way back but really it was a bit of a miracle.

This playful adaptation of our story is my love letter to my big ol lab. I would have never recovered if he hadn’t returned and I am forever grateful for the Moray community for helping us bring him home.

The following portfolio of images is a start of my dream to have this story published in a professional publishing house. Every page is hand drawn, carved and has a colour theme in line with the ongoings of that page. Taking you through the colour wheel of emotions that must have been felt by my daft dog on his epic journey.
